It's Solitaire for Windows 10, a modern spin on the world's first computer classic.

Few people who played the original Solitaire, even in passing, would argue that it was anything but a classic. It came pre-installed on Windows computers 25 years ago and it comes pre-installed on Windows computers now. What does the current version offer in terms of fun that the original didn't? The answer is, it depends on your definition of fun. If you just want a cut-and-dry game of Solitaire for a few hours, you might not like the new features and graphics of the current version. If, however, you adore Solitaire and demand a new version once in awhile, you're going to love what Windows 10 does with this classic game.

First things first: The graphics are better. You'll find a lot more dazzling visuals with more effects and better clarity and pixels. Cards might look a little crisper and the sounds are a bit more true to life. There are more versions than in the original Windows editions and of course, you're going to find a lot of new challenges and exciting things. There's very little to actually dislike about this edition but for folks who want a simple game of Solitaire every single time and don't want to shuffle through menu options, this might seem a bit daunting at first.

Pros

  • Better graphics and more challenges than in any previous edition
  • Optimized for touchscreens
  • Tons of new features will delight more adventurous Solitaire players

Cons

  • The tons of new features might be a negative side for players who just want to have a simple game of Solitaire
  • Better graphics doesn't necessarily mean the game works any better

It's still Solitaire and most players will love this version.
